How To Avoid Nausea And Vomiting While Travelling?

Suffering from nausea and travel sickness is not new. I for one have always taken care of this while traveling in mountains. The curvy roads make me nervy, within half an hour of entering the steep bends, winding, up and down roads… I am ready to feel miserable and till I do not vomit am bound to make others life miserable too. Once I am in that state I start getting advice from all quarters of people traveling with me. Be it traveling by bus (always make sure to take the window seat) or a/c driven cars or flights I am bound to vomit at least once before I feel good. I guess this happens due to one’s body’s in adaptability to the changing climate or travel motion and fluids within the semicircular canals of the inner ear getting agitated. The best ways to avoid spoiling your journey is…cars

1. Always carry some vitamin C tablets or orange sweet toffees
2. If traveling in an a/c car try to occupy the front seat, request the driver to drive at a low speed and keep one of the windows open to get rid of the air within
3. Avoid reading books or magazines while traveling
4. Always sit facing the road, never sit sideways
5. Avoid intake of food or liquids before or while traveling or try having a time gap of at least an hour between intake of food and journey. Intake smaller quantity of food
6. Avoid sitting on wheel humps or near the smell of petrol and diesel
7. Always take the window seat in case you feel like vomiting
8. Wear loose and comfortable clothing

Holi Hai......

Festivals of India are the USP of this ancient and diverse nation.  The concepts of these festivals are so universal, unique and time stretched that they catch the imagination of people of all ages and all walks of life.  Holi is one of such festivals of India that has more than one reason for celebration.
Children enjoy as it provides chance for limitless pranks of throwing colored water and application of varied colours on any one they come across.  And the best part is that cursing is considered as a blessing on this day.  So all naughty get to their best and trouble everyone around to laugh off the wild reactions from the victims.
Young men love Holi as it gives them the opportunity tease their girls and also express their affections.  It is a platform where people from different communities get together to share sweets and play the game of colours.  It also offers the thrill and kick of a special drink prepared exclusively for this occasion called ‘Bhang’.
Indian movie industry also has many songs filmed on Holi adding melody to this festival of spring and spirit. Jaipur celebrates Holi in a royal way with rows of beautifully decorated elephants on which people ride and play Holi.  The very idea gives a great high and it should surely be tried out once in a life time.
The Holi cow festival held at New Delhi on the city outskirts is a place to be for the young minds as it offers unlimited fun. The Vishwa Bharathi University at Shanthiniketan West Bengal showcases the cultural rich Holi in its dance, music and literary activities.
Where ever you may be in India the spirit of Holi will certain touch your heart and the colors of holi will soak your clothes this year on 8 March.
